Linxing Deep Coal Seam Fracturing Flowback Fluid and Produced Water Treatment Project

  1. Project Overview

This project is the supporting water treatment facility for the Linxing deep coalbed methane exploration and development operations of China United Coalbed Methane Corporation. Located in Xing County, Lvliang City, Shanxi Province, it has a treatment capacity of 2,400 m³/day. The facility is specifically designed to treat fracturing flowback fluid and produced water generated during coalbed methane extraction, achieving harmless treatment and resource recovery. It serves as a critical environmental protection initiative enabling green coalbed methane production.

  1. Core Project Details

Employs a combined “Pretreatment + Hardness Removal + Flocculation Sedimentation + Filtration” process, tailored for high-turbidity, high-salinity wastewater characteristics.

Efficiently removes suspended solids, hardness ions, and pollutants, with treated effluent meeting Water Quality Standards for Fracturing Fluid Preparation.

Utilizes skid-mounted integrated equipment, ideal for decentralized treatment needs in mining areas with convenient installation and flexible operation.

Treated wastewater is fully recycled for fracturing operations, achieving zero discharge and complete reuse while protecting the mining area’s water environment.

Selected as a Shanxi Provincial Coalbed Methane Industry Environmental Water Treatment Demonstration Project.

Mine wastewater complete reuse technology received the CNPC Environmental Technology Innovation Award.

Verified by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment as fully compliant with mining area ecological protection requirements.

Provides a replicable engineering template for deep coal seam gas extraction water treatment, widely referenced across the industry.
