From Existing Water Supply to Centralized Drinking Water Distribution

Treatment processes are selected according to feed-water quality, required treated-water quality, facility demand and distribution requirements.

Drinking-Water Distribution

The actual treatment process is determined by feed-water quality and applicable potable-water requirements. UF or RO is selected only where required by the confirmed design basis.

A — Stable Municipal / Building Water Supply

Filtration → Disinfection → Storage / Distribution

Projects where the existing water supply requires additional filtration, disinfection or centralized drinking-water management.

B — Enhanced Filtration Requirement

Pretreatment → Filtration → UF → Disinfection → Storage / Distribution

Facilities requiring enhanced particulate and microbiological control.

C — Dissolved-Solids Reduction Required

Pretreatment → Filtration / UF → RO → Final Conditioning → Storage / Distribution

Projects requiring reduction of TDS or specific dissolved contaminants.

Illustrative configurations only. Final process selection requires review of feed-water analysis, required treated-water quality and project conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every commercial drinking-water system require reverse osmosis?
No. RO is selected when dissolved salts or specific contaminants must be reduced to meet the required treated-water quality. Projects with suitable feed-water quality may use filtration and disinfection without RO.
How is the required system capacity determined?
System capacity should consider drinking-water demand, operating hours, peak consumption, storage strategy, distribution requirements and potential future expansion.
Can the system be integrated with an existing building or facility water network?
Yes. System interfaces can be engineered according to the available water supply, treated-water storage, pressure requirements, distribution network and site conditions.
What space is required for the treatment system?
Space requirements depend on treatment capacity, process configuration, storage requirements and equipment layout. Available plant-room or installation-space information should be reviewed during system design.
Can SYNERAQUA provide installation and commissioning support?
Installation supervision, commissioning, operator training and technical support can be included according to the agreed project scope and delivery requirements.
What if complete feed-water analysis is not yet available?
Available project information can be reviewed at the preliminary stage. For final process selection and performance-related design, representative feed-water analysis and confirmed treated-water requirements are normally required.
